If you are an American citizen, you will not require a visa to visit the Netherlands for less than 90 days. You can use the Schengen Visa Advisor to check for the latest advice. You can then also check the entry requirements for American citizens here.

🌍 From the Rest of the World

If you are a national from any other country, you may be required to get a Schengen visa. You can use the Schengen Visa Advisor to check if this is the case for your nationality. You can also check the advice from your local government service.

Should you require a Schengen visa, it will take around 30 minutes to complete your application. You can apply for your visa up to 6 months ahead of your trip. Apply no later than 45 days before your trip. Fees may vary depending upon the country you are applying from, but it should cost around €80
